Contracted professor (professeur-e sous octroi) in coastal adaptation

This contracted professor position is created as part of the Apogée funding obtained by the Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR), in Canada, for the Transforming Climate Action – Transformer l’action pour le climat research program. The person hired will be in position for a total of five years, during which time he or she will hold a Research Chair in Coastal Adaptation along with research funding associated with this position. He or she will also be expected to develop an original and innovative research program in geography related to the adaptation of coastal communities and territories and actively engage in its realization.
The selected candidate will also be expected to teach one (1) or two (2) courses per year in the undergraduate and graduate geography programs of the Département de biologie, chimie et geography. Supervision of graduate students is also expected.

Requirements
Diploma and discipline of diploma : Ph. D. in Geography, environmental science, or related discipline. In the latter case, the candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in geography.
Specialization domain : Human geography.
Preferred areas of research : Incremental and transformational adaptation to the effects of climate change in coastal areas OR public policies of adaptation and sustainable development of coastal territories OR innovative adaptation solutions OR adaptive capacities of coastal communities and territories OR resilience of socio-ecological and socio-economic systems OR public policies of adaptation; adaptation governance.
Salary and conditions
